ivory art

The special feature of the two cabinet exhibitions is showing these masterpieces in harmony and in an astonishing ‘dialogue’ with paintings, sculptures, graphics, and medallic and porcelain art. The first part has been given the title “AN-SICHTEN” and the second part, planned to follow in early 2018, will be entitled “AUGEN-BLICKE”. Drawings and print graphic templates used by ivory artists and their studios are given particular emphasis. Similarly, medallic images, monumental sculptures and small bronzes have had an inspirational effect on the creation of ivory art, which in turn gave inspiration, in some of its subjects, to porcelain art during the 18th century.
